Janet Williams moved to Montgomery County in 2003, leaving Prince George’s County to buy her very own piece of property. While working on her condo association Board of Directors, John Conger, the vice chair for her precinct, asked if she would take over his position because he was moving. He knew that she interned for EMILY’S List, believed in stewardship (Ms. Williams was on the Board of her local library, the Takoma Park Community Action Group, as well as a member of the Public Leadership Education Network and the Women’s Information Network) and loved to talk about the political arena (she just started working on a Graduate Certificate in PACs and Political Management at George Washington University). That was her first foray into Montgomery County politics. In that short time, Janet moved from vice-chair to Chair of her precinct (13-21) and then became a Vice Chair of the District 20 Caucus. After being elected to the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee in June, Ms. Williams was elected for an At-Large position. Ms. Williams is currently the District Liaison. Ms. Williams has served on the Early Voting Committee, the Intern Committee and the Silent Auction Committee.
