While Marylanders Look Forward, Andy Harris Looks to the Failures of the Past

Even after losing a campaign where voters rejected his “more of the same” ways, Andy Harris still hasn’t gotten the message. In a blatant embrace of the failed policies of the past that helped create the country’s current economic woes, Andy Harris is bringing former House Speaker Newt Gingrich – the poster boy for those failures – to Maryland. Gingrich is scheduled to appear at an event for Harris this evening at the BWI Airport Marriott.

“Leave it to Andy Harris to embrace embattled former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who is not only decades removed from relevancy but epitomizes all the failed policies that got our economy into this mess in the first place,” said Susan Turnbull, Chair of the Maryland Democratic Party.

“Andy Harris clearly didn’t get the message voters sent him last year when they rejected his ‘more of the same’ ways. While Marylanders are looking to move forward with policies that will create jobs and get our economy moving again, Harris is looking backwards. With so many Maryland families struggling right now, that’s a downright shame.”
