Once the question and answer period has been completed, the Central Committee will vote on its recommendation.

Background on the Vote
The vacancy in Congressional District 4 (parts of Montgomery and Prince George's Counties) is due to the resignation of Representative Albert Wynn. A measure was approved during the recent General Assembly with respect to a Special Congressional Election. The bill provides that when a Congressional vacancy occurs, the Central Committees in each County within the District should vote to recommend a candidate to serve as the Party nominee for that position. If all of the County Central Committees from a political party recommend the same person, then that person will be the nominee of that political party in a special election. If all of the County Central Committees for a political party do not agree on the same person, then that party's State Central Committee (mostly made up of County Central Committees from around the State of Maryland) will select the party's nominee.
Both the Democratic and Republican Central Committees of Montgomery County and Prince George's County will each vote to recommend a candidate. The two recommended candidates will represent the Democratic and Republican Parties in a special election which will take place between 36 days and 60 days after the date that the Governor signs a proclamation calling for a special general election.
