About
Us:
Student Member
Position:
We are very fortunate to have been
given such an active role in politics as youth
– very few other students have this opportunity
in their county. Two high school students
(one male, one female) are elected each May by
the MCDCC. Our job is twofold- we help
the party make inroads among young people
(through intellectual engagement, volunteering,
etc.), but we also vocalize student opinion and
promote student interests.
While we currently do not have a
vote, we are actively campaigning for it so
that we can better represent the opinion of
young democrats in
We attend the monthly meetings of the MCDCC, network with students and politicians, and actively engage youth in politics. It has really been a lot fun, so if you have a dedicated passion for politics, run for this position next year! There are many opportunities so just send us an email!
Montgomery County Democratic Central
Committee
(MCDCC):
Montgomery
The official body of the Democratic Party in Mo. Co., whose 23 members are elected by all registered Democrats. They meet the second Tuesday of each month (anyone is welcome to come), where we talk through all of the major difficulties and opportunities for the Democratic Party and how we can translate abstract goals into meaningful progress.
Democrats
As Democrats, our common progressive values lead us to believe in the strength of a society that focuses on the rights of the individual.
We stand for the disenfranchised, the poor, the environment, energy independence, universal health care, a reasonable minimum wage, equality, justice, strong economic growth, and a more effective education system.
